I was the caregiver of my sister. While I handled the challenges that came with her Down Syndrome, diabetes, kidney failure, etc., it was the dementia that was most difficult. Her decline was rapid, and I found myself feeling alone, without hope.

Makers of Care’s support groups and Susan’s leadership reminded me that it was a privilege to care for my sister, not a burden. Instead of feeling like God had forgotten me, I felt closer to Him than ever before. He renewed my faith and helped me through her final days. It also helped me adjust to life without her here.
